MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
COMING UP
SEPTEMBER 2022
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Welcome to Kirkcaldy Photographic Society!
As I write this, we are planning to be back to in-person club meetings again from 12th September 2022. We certainly have missed getting together for the social side of photography and seeing photographic prints. Some photographs work as digital images, but they often look better on the right specialist paper. We’d love to see you on a club night, whether you’re new to the club or returning. I think we’ve all changed and grown over the last 3 years, and perhaps learned a little about ourselves that we can put into our photography. It’ll be good to have a natter again about our shared hobby - over a cup of tea served from Stewart. Something else we’ve missed! See you soon, and I look forward to seeing your images too, whether digital or print.
Martin Watt

PAGB Acceptance - MARTIN WATT
FENCED OUT
Well done to our President, Martin Watt, for gaining an Acceptance in the recent Masters of Print competition. This is the PAGB's premiere event with only 60 acceptances awarded in the UK.
This image has done well for Martin getting fantastic critiques across the photography platform along with winning him two ,top of the range, printers.
THE ROY BALFOUR TROPHY
This was the first presentation of the Roy Balfour for:
'Focus on Nature' - BRAW
We had an outstanding number of images submitted and all were excellent quality. We need some of these in future competitions. Our judge for the evening was Gillian Temple DPAGB, LRPS, BPE1 and she said it was a very hard task to shortlist images for her judges selection which is a tribute to our members and the quality of their images.
It was wonderful to see Wanda Mackie win the trophy for the first time - she was actually sitting by Roy in a hide on a nature reserve in Hungary when she took this shot. Wanda was very close to Roy so it was fitting that she was the first to be named on the trophy.
Roy's wife, Olwen, said she knew that Roy would be over the moon that it was Wanda who won and I have to agree.
