MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
WELCOME TO SEASON 2020-2021
As we start the new season may I welcome all members back to KPS. Unfortunately due to restrictions, it looks unlikely that we will be back at our venue this year although the situation is being monitored by the committee at our regular monthly meetings.
This season looks like a season of digital images, for both internal and external competitions, it is not ideal by any means but circumstances dictate this. However, I am sure this will not dishearten members and we shall proceed accordingly.
We have a wealth of talent in our club and this hopefully will be reflected in our individual and club achievements in this seasons competition results.
For new members we do have an active and private Facebook page and we encourage you to post your images and ask questions if you have any.
I wish all members the very best this season and I do hope we can arrange our popular club outings once this virus is under control.
Please be safe everyone.
Roy Balfour - President KPS.

26th January 2021 - A tribute to our President, Roy Balfour, who died suddenly on the 25th January 2021
Roy was larger than life, one of a kind. Not only a fellow photographer, but also a very good friend. He was passionate about his photography and about his beloved camera club. His main interest in photography was birds in the wild and all things nature - in fact he set himself up as the leader of a breakout group at KPS (better known as the Tufty Club) where he would organise group outings for the nature lovers among us. Such was his love of this type of photography, Roy set off on adventures in Hungary (with Zoltan) and South Africa to the national parks. He had so many travels still to undertake and so many photographs yet to shoot.
Roy was well known for his humour, passion, and willingness to help anyone in need. His giving nature and kindness knew no bounds and he was always willing to give of his time and expertise (and lifts to meets). With his incredible zest for life, and an exuberance seen in few, his passing will leave a huge gap in the lives of many. Our club rooms will certainly be so quiet without him. His death has shocked our club and it has left many of us saddened, and angry, at the unfairness of it. Roy will be sorely missed. Sadly Roy did not get to see his image of a Hoopoe come in first place at our recent 'Battle of the Tartans' competition with Penwith Photographic Group - this would really have made his day. I hope you enjoy browsing his images.
