On Sunday 8th October 9 members of Kirkcaldy Photographic Society travelled to the Holy Island, south of Berwick. We set off early, in order, to access the causeway at low tide. This is a popular location and we were eager to go forth and bag the best spots before the other camera clubs ….and we did ! One club had travelled from Dorset. The sky was overcast, at times however this did lend itself to some dramatic and atmospheri...

Tonight we were visited by Robert and his 'family of birds' and what a night it was.  Over 2/3 of the membership turned out for what turned out to be a fantastic evening.  Cameras were out and members took hundreds of shots while the birds obligingly sat and posed quite readily.  I'm sure there were lots of wonderful images taken and it looked as though everyone enjoyed the evening.  Just something a little different for a cha...

Well what a night!  Once again Libby entertains us and stuns us with her expertise and the wonderful work she produces.  A night of veritable delights.  The work shown was absolutely beautiful and Libby herself, was as always, a wonderful speaker.  With the promise of 'showing us how to create some of her masterpieces' we can't wait until next year for a return visit.  Thanks again to all who attended, it is really nice to see...

A huge thanks to Colin (aka Phil) Hulley for an evening of Printing, Papers and many mamebers a few pounds lighter.

Albiet the talk was extremely technical in parts (sorry to our newer cohort) some of our more experience folks even admitted to learning something new.  The added bonus was of course the great reduction on the many papers on offer.

Don't forget thatColin has agreed that the discounts available on the night will sti...

Thirteen stalwart club members left Kirkcaldy, at 8am, this morning looking forward to the first club outing of the new season. We traveled to Edzell in Angus, where we re-grouped. Where's Cathy, Wanda and Jan? Of course, they were in the local hotel having lattès and bacon rolls. Martin was dispatched to seek them out, which was a mistake, as he stayed for breakfast, just to be sociable you understand. Escapees rounded up, we...

Well what can I say.  The club was buzzing - lots of members in attendance............ and who can blame them! A fantastic trip including Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore (and a wee quick stop off in Dubai) courtesy of two long standing members, Margaret Manson and Joan White.  A veritable delight of images and stories from a six week trip.  Lots of laughter and good old fashioned banter from the members which was...

Well another fantastic night at the club.  Our first practical night of the season.  Thanks to Martin who gave a great presentation on competitions, image preparation and sizing (a copy of this is being sent to all members by email by Wanda - secretary extraordinaire). A huge thanks also to Joan White for her explanation of our Name the Tune competition which will come later in the year and the fabulous image of the 3 lovely h...

On Friday 1st September a number of our members set up the exhibition for our annual open day.  We had around 100 images on display and the exhibition was a great success.  We had lots of visitors and some of our members managed to sell images.  The exhibition was well received overall and next year's booking has been made.

Monday saw the club get together for the first meeting of the season.  We had quite a few new m...

Holy Island castle was obscured a little by scaffolding so our attention was turned to the surrounding landscape...

Rough water here with rocks covered in green moss, which reflected the light beautifully. An arr...
